Madd Style Cosmetics: Purple and Green!

Hi All!

A lovely fan and member of the Madd Style Cosmetics FB Fan Page is getting married in March and her wedding colours are purple and green.  She asked for some looks using the two colours and this is what I came up with!  (I don't have any experience whatsoever with "wedding makeup", so be warned!!)

In natural light with a pair of half false lashes added (because weddings are a perfect reason for false lashes, right??).

Here it is in natural light and without lashes.

If you'd like to find out how I created the look, then please keep on reading.  :)

EOTD: Sugarpill + Madd Style Cosmetics Mash-up!

Hi All!

Sometimes you just want to do a bright and funky lid with a dark and smoky lower lash line...right?  I know that I sure felt this was the perfect way to cap off a pretty long and exhausting week!  :)

I put together this look using several Sugarpill Cosmetics colours as well as a couple colours from Madd Style Cosmetics.

Here's what resulted:

Products used:

  • The All Natural Face "Magic" Eyeshadow Primer
  • NYX Eyeshadow Base in White
  • Sugarpill's Tako applied under the brow and blended down into the crease
  • Sugarpill's Poison Plum applied to the crease and blended up into Tako
  • Sugarpill's After Party applied to the deeper crease
  • Sugarpill's Velocity used to blend After Party into Poison Plum in the crease
  • Madd Style Cosmetics's Afternoon Delight applied to the inner half of the lid
  • Sugarpill's Acid Berry applied to the second half of the lid
  • Sugarpill's Midori applied between Acid Berry and After Party
  • Sugarpill's Lumi applied to the duct (using the same brush that I applied the greens with and thus Lumi took on a much more "green" look than usual--which I thought was kinda neat!)
  • Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in "Yeyo" to line the lower lash line
  • Madd Style Cosmetics's Zazz on the lower lash line
  • Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in "Zero" to line the upper and lower waterlines
  • Lush's "Independent" liner applied with an Inglot slanted liner brush
  • Milani's Power Lash in Black for mascara
The End!

Thank you as always for dropping by.  I hope you enjoyed this little mash-up and I hope you're all having a fantastic weekend!

EOTD: Company Mash-up! Sugarpill, Fyrinnae and Naked Cosmetics

 Hi All!

It's been an awfully long time (or at least I feel like it has??) since I've posted an EOTD!  My lovely friend Brandy used some Fyrinnae shadows today and it inspired to me to use one of my newer Fyrinnae shadows for the first time: Mephisto!  I knew that I wanted to pair it with Sugarpill's Velocity and then when the eye was coming together it turned out I used a few more Sugarpill shadows (and a Naked Cosmetics shadow) to finish off the look!

Here's what I came up with!

Ultra close-up to show the glory of Poison Plum, Velocity and Mephisto!

Products used:
  • The All Natural Face "Magic" Eyeshadow Primer
  • NYX Eyeshadow Base in "White"
  • Urban Decay 24/7 Pencil in "Zero" (applied as a black base to the lid, lower lash line, and the upper & lower waterlines)
  • Sugarpill's Velocity applied to the outer 2/3rds of the crease
  • Sugarpill's Poison Plum applied to the inner 1/3rd of the crease
  • Fyrinnae's Mephisto applied to the lid
  • Sugarpill's Stella applied to the outer 1/3rd of the lid and blended up into Velocity a bit
  • Sugarpills's Stella applied to the outer 2/3rds of the lower lash line
  • Fyrinnae's Mephisto applied to the inner 1/2 of the lower lash line
  • Sugarpill's Tako applied as a brow highlight and to highlight the tear duct
  • Naked Cosmetics "Ivory" collection (the red interference one!) applied over Tako in the duct
  • Sugarpill's Bulletproof applied as a liner to the upper lash line
  • Milani Power Lash in "Black" for mascara on the upper and lower lashes
  • Ardell lashes in #109
And that completes the look!

Which companies do *you* like to mash-up together?  :)

Thanks as always for dropping by!!

Edit: Jan 22 @ 6:34pm.  I am *so* sad right now because some of you are leaving such lovely comments and compliments to this entry but for some reason they're going straight to my email and aren't visible on the blog entry itself.  I'd love to be able to reply to them to tell you all "thank you"...but I have a feeling I have something weird happening with either Disqus or Blogger.  -sigh-  I really liked the Disqus platform because it allows me to reply directly to comments...but I'm thinking if it's going to cause me problems like this that I'll disable it and just go back to old fashioned Blogger commenting?

Madd Style Cosmetics: Girl with Hellcat!

Hi All!

Recently I got a new Madd Style Cosmetics colour in the mail and I was pretty much dying to try it out.  You know me and my love affair with black pigments...well...Hellcat lived up to my expectations, that's for sure!  I also wanted to use it in such a way that it wouldn't turn the whole look overly "smoky".  You'll notice to accomplish this I didn't blend the black into the entire crease, I kept it located to the outer corner of my eye.  This might be a good way to start out playing with blacks if you're not too sure how to go about it.

Here's the look I came up with:

If you'd like to find out how this look came to be, then please keep on reading/watching (yep!  It's another "talkie"!!).

Madd Style Cosmetics: Purple Smoky + Gold Digger Glitter!

Hello!!

It's a new year!  Hooray!  I hope all of your new years are off to a super fantastic start.  :)

As I mentioned in my last tutorial, Madd Style Cosmetics has now launched their own website!  Upon its launch I scooped up several of the "Glitter Bombs", a new product to MSC's line (although Mo has been putting out glitter mixes with select limited edition grab bags over the past year or so) and I knew I had to use them in my next tutorial.  Well, it's that time...now!

This tutorial doesn't use glitter in a complicated way so beginners (and all!) should gain, what I hope will be, a few useful tips.

If you'd like to find out how to get the following look, then please keep on reading (/watching!  As it is a "talkie!")!
