EOTD: MTCoffinz and Inglot

Hi hi!

So I've been playing with my MTCoffinz eyeshadows a lot recently and I'm really enjoying "rediscovering" them!  For this look I wanted to play with my coppers!  I've also made it my life's goal to perfect wearing false lashes without (heavy) eyeliner.  This was my first look where I attempted little to no liner and I have to say, I quite liked the result!

Products used:

  • MTCoffinz Under the Rainbow Eyeshadow Primer
  • MTCoffinz Anubis in the tear duct
  • MTCoffinz Tantrum applied to the whole lid
  • MTCoffinz Wired applied to the outer 2/3rd of the lid (over most of the Tantrum)
  • Inglot Matte 342 and Matte 329 in the crease and along the lower lash line
  • A tiny bit of Inglot Gel Liner in 77 applied super closely to the lashes
  • Tarte Inner Rim Brightener applied to the waterline (I think I might have a bad reaction to this product though--the next time I try it, I'll know for sure!  My left eye watered like CRAZY after I applied it...)
  • Red Cherry Lashes in #DW
  • Gabriel Color Mascara in Black on the lower waterline
  • Pure Anada Mascara in Black on upper lashes (before applying the falsies!)

Yep yep!!  Yay for MTCoffinz shadows--they sure are pretty!!

I hope you all are having a lovely weekend and thanks for dropping by!  :)

EOTD: Inglot and Sugarpill

Good evening!

I have been playing with makeup a lot over the past week or so and realized that I should share some love of it here on my blog!  Let the makeup blogging revival begin!!!!!!!! :)

This evening I celebrated the return of Game of Thrones with a friend of mine (I'll be watching it at her house on Monday evenings and I'm super excited for that as she has read the books, so when I get confused I can ask her questions so that I can understand what the heck is going on!  Woo!) and decided to mark the occasion with some colourful liner.  Sugarpill's Royal Sugar really does make an incredible liner when mixed with a mixing medium!

So what'd I use?
  • Mineral Fusion Eye Primer
  • Inglot D.S 501 on the lid
  • A tiny bit of Inglot Pearl 448 at the outer part of the lid
  • Inglot Matte 376 in the crease and blended out with some Matte 390.  376 also applied along the lower lash line
  • Inglot D.S 496 in the tear duct area
  • OCC Cosmetic Colour Pencil in Poolboy to line the lower waterline
  • Sugarpill's Royal Sugar (mixed with Aromaleigh's Indelible Eyeliner Sealant) for winged liner
  • Pure Anada Mascara in Black on the upper and lower lashes
Fun fun fun, n'est-ce pas?  :)

EOTD: Sugarpill and Inglot Mash-Up

The weather in Vancouver has become dreary (although I have to say I really enjoy the snow--but the grey garbage water that is left behind after the rain starts...I do not like quite so much!) and I decided to counter-balance that with a look that calls on Spring!  Using a combination of Sugarpill Cosmetics and Inglot, I came up with this look:

Here are the products I used:
  • OCC Creme Colour Concentrate in John Doe
  • Sugarpill Buttercupcake in the inner lid
  • Inglot Pearl 440 in center lid
  • Inglot AMC 66 in outer lid
  • Sugarpill Tako for the brow highlight
  • Sugarpill Lumi in the tear duct
  • Sugarpill Mochi on the bulk of the lower lash line
  • Inglot Pearl 426 on the outer part of the lower lash line
  • Gabriel Black Color Mascara
  • Inglot 87 Gel Liner (also applied on lower waterline)
My Inglot liner has been dried out--but I used the miraculous "Duraline" to wake it up.  It did a super good job!

This was a pretty fun look to do.  Something about yellows always make me want to blow them out right in the inner portion of the eye this way.  Buttercupcake was the perfect suspect for such a job!

I hope you're all ready for the holiday season (since it is pretty much upon us!) and thanks for stopping by to take a look at my creation.  :)

More New (to me) Inglot!

I am fairly certain that one cannot ever have too many eyeshadows from Inglot.  The quality of their shadows is just incredible and the colour range is essentially unbeatable.  If you want mattes, they have them!  If you want glittery ones, they have it!  If you want metallics, yep, got them!  Satins?  SURE!

Recently I was on vacation and visited the Inglot counter in San Francisco (and then made a last minute pit-stop at the Inglot counter in Alderwood Mall in Washington) and I came back with the following goodies!

Top Row: 60 AMC (a beautiful marigold yellow with slight shimmer), 369 Matte (a neato blurple, perfectly matte), 134 R (three shades of satin blue) and 135 R (three shades of seafoam green).
Middle Row: 317 Matte (a gorgeous matte blue based green), 610 D.S (a bright green with gold glitter), 611 D.S (a deep yellow based green with gold glitter), 414 Pearl (a dark green with a green glowly pearl), 418 Pearl (also a dark green, but this ones pearl is more of a teal/blue glow).
Bottom Row: 387 Matte (a matte grey/taupe), 448 Pearl (a super metallic/pearly bright silver), 471 D.S (an interesting taupe-y brown with a green cast to it) and 402 Pearl (a pink taupe that is said to be a dupe of MAC's Satin Taupe).

And here they are swatched!

First Row (top to bottom): 317 Matte, 369 Matte, 60 AMC
Second Row: 414 Pearl, 611 D.S, 610 D.S.
Third Row: 448 Pearl, 387 Matte, 418 Pearl
Last Row: 402 Pearl, 471 D.S.

The rainbow satins were tough to photograph.  They have an amazing glow to them that just wouldn't show up in photographs!!  What happens, essentially, is that when you mix all three of the colours together, you get the middle colour (which makes sense!!) and you can see I've swatched that "mixed" colour to the right of the small swatches of each colour by itself.  It's likely that my favorites in these little trios is the lightest colour and the darkest colour, actually.  The lightest colour has the best glow (almost like a duochrome) and the darkest colours are the most densely pigmented.  The middle colour (and the result of mixing the three) is still super pretty though!!  I'm glad I snagged these!

As with each trip to Inglot, though, the downside is having to come home and rearrange my palettes!!!  I *hate* taking them out of those magnetic palettes--I can never manage to not slip and gauge a few, which *always* makes me so sad!!  The trick I've seen some people post about on the internet of using the magnets from the top of the palettes to grab at the corner of each pan doesn't work for me (I think they made the magnets that hold down the colours stronger or perhaps deeper) so I need to look for a stronger magnet to see if it works.

Regardless!  Here is my full collection when I was attempting to put them into a new order.  (I did move a couple around after this picture, but didn't take a final picture of each of my palettes.)

I have to say my newest obsession, and the colour that I have been getting more and more of when I stop by an Inglot counter, is taupe.  There is just something so darn magical about taupes (they can be warm, they can be cool, they straddle different types of colours whether it's grey, brown, pink, purple, green...amazing!), wouldn't you agree??

Have you ever purchased from Inglot?  What are your favorite colours??  :)

EOTD: Golden Inglot

Last night I had to go back to work for a couple of hours to do something and I decided to put on some makeup for the occasion!  I find that I haven't been wearing makeup to work as much as I had at one point in time--but inspiration caught me yesterday and I couldn't help myself.

My "neutral" Inglot palette has been sitting out on my computer desk these past few days and I think that was the main inspiration for this look.  Especially, considering, all of these colours came from that palette!!  What I ended up liking about this look is that I mixed some cool taupes/browns with a warm lid colour and I think the effect was kinda nice.  I do wish, however, that I had a warmer duct highlight.  I think that might have helped to pull it together a bit more.

Here was the result:

So what did I use?  Well let me tell you!

  • The All Natural Face Magic Eyeshadow Primer
  • Inglot's 363 Matte in the crease (it's a grey taupe) and outer lid
  • Inglot's 419 Matte applied to the lid (a neato metallic antique gold)
  • Inglot's 329 Matte (dark brown) applied to the outer lid and deepest part of the crease
  • Inglot's 395 Pearl applied to the duct and below the brow
  • A mixture of 363 and 329 on the lower lash line
  • A bit of Inglot's 64 AMC at both lash lines (applied with a push liner brush to just darken the lash roots)
  • A tiny bit of Inglot's 390 Matte (a light beige) to blend more in the crease
  • Gabriel Color Mascara in "Black"
And blend blend blend!

Thanks for dropping by!!  If you own any Inglot colours, which ones are your favorite?

EOTD: Steely Inglot

Hi hi!

Yesterday evening I saw the new Superman (Man of Steel) movie and was inspired to use some Inglot colours and do something "steely" for the occasion.  Here's what I came up with!

I always get excited when I find a good reason to use a bunch of my Inglot colours.  They are such a joy to work with!  This look also contributed to me being able to use some of my newest brushes (and I really need to put together a post soon showing you all some of my recent new favorite brushes!).

Here is a list of the products used:

  • Eyeshadow Primer (I'm not going to say which brand because I recently have come to suspect that they sell their primer as "vegan" when it isn't!)
  • NYX Eyeshadow Base in "White"
  • Inglot 376 Matte (dark grey) applied to the crease
  • Inglot 501 D.S (light matte grey with sparkles) applied above 376 to blend out the dark grey
  • Inglot 451 Pearl (metallic gunmetal) applied to the lid
  • Inglot 318 Matte (white) applied under the brow
  • The duct is a mixture of 318 Matte and 501 D.S.
  • A tiny bit of Inglot's 349 Matte (a taupey brown) through the crease
  • Inglot 65 AMC (black with silver sparkles) on the outer lid and outer lower lash line.  I also smudged this colour a bit along the upper lash line.
  • The lower lash line is 451 Pearl for the most part
  • Urban Decay 24/7 liner in "Zero" to line the upper and lower waterlines
  • Gabriel Color Mascara in "Black" applied to the upper and lower lashes
And that's that!  Have you seen the new Superman?  What makeup did *you* wear for the occasion?  :)

New (to me!) Inglot Colours!

Hi All!

A couple of weeks ago I had the chance to go to my *very first* Inglot makeup counter!  I found out before having to go down to Seattle for a work-thing that there was an Inglot counter at the Macy's in Alderwood Mall.  Of course I made the whole car do a bit of a pit stop at Alderwood so I could run int with my giant list of colours to look at!!

My experience at the counter was pretty good.  I was somewhat disappointed to see that the numbering system was a bit haphazard.  I had a list of numbers (sorted by colour group) on a piece of paper, but the only way for the Inglot saleswoman to know which colour was which (say in the "blue" group) was for her to turn over each and every blue pan to look at the bottom of it.  I think a better system might have been if the numbers were listed on the top somehow!  Or if there were some kind of "map" available so that we'd know which colour was where.  I only had 30 minutes to look around before I had to meet back up with my work-group, so the woman and I were flipping colours over like crazy to try to find the ones I had wanted to look at (there were almost 40 colours on my list!).  In the end, it alllllll worked and out and I left the counter with 14 new colours.  YAY!

Here are some pictures (and swatches) of what I picked up:

Each colour comes packaged in a little plastic...holder?  I guess we'll call it a holder!  The front plastic is "hard" whereas the plastic on the back is soft and you can peel it off to release the colour from the holder.

Here they are outside of their holders.

Top Row (left to right): 473 D.S, 340 Matte, 478 D.S. and 413 Pearl.
Second Row: 403 Pearl, 419 Pearl, 451 Pearl and 434 Pearl.
Third Row: 440 Pearl, 376 Matte, 349 Matte and 390 Matte.
Bottom two: 363 Matte and 501 D.S.

No Flash.

With Flash (so you can see the shimmer a bit better!)
And for some swatches!  If you own any Inglot shadows you know what I'm saying when I say that the texture of these are incredible. From the pearls to the mattes to the mattes with glitter (the "D.S."), they all perform wonderfully!

Top row (left to right): 473 D.S (a beautiful sparkly teal), 340 Matte (a dark matte navy blue), 478 D.S (a matte baby blue with glitter).
Bottom row: 413 Pearl (a really gorgeous pearly teal.  This one photographs more blue than it really is.  It has a gorgeous green tone to it), 403 Pearl (a yellow gold), 419 Pearl (an antique bronze-gold).

No Flash.

Top to bottom: 451 Pearl (a blue-based gun-metal type grey with a silver shimmer), 434 Pearl (a purple-taupe-ish based...grey??  I have a hard time describing this one, obviously!  It's pretty though!) and 440 Pearl (a light pearly purple).

No Flash.

I decided to get quite a few taupes/browns in this shop and I am glad that I did!  These are beautiful!!

Top Row (left to right): 376 Matte (a medium-dark grey that has some purple and brown qualities to it), 349 Matte (a light cool-toned brown-taupe) and 390 Matte (a warm-toned beige).
Bottom two: 363 Matte (a medium brown with a slight grey tinge) and 501 D.S (a beautiful grey-toned beige with silver glitter).

No Flash.

Here is a shot of all of them with the flash used so that you can really see the shimmer and glitter in them!

With Flash.

I'm so excited to play with these!  Eeeeeee!

I also picked up three brow powders and a brow wax, but I haven't taken swatch pictures of them yet!  Let me know if you'd like to see swatches.  I'm very happy with the middle and third brow powders.  The saleswoman suggested the first and second colour and I asked her for a suggestion of a "darker" one as well.  The light colour is nice, but for some reason I think it looks a bit odd when I use it.  I may just have to try experimenting a bit more.

The colours are (left to right): 568, 560, 569.  The brow wax (on the right) is 574.

These photographed a bit strange though.  568, although "ashy" is quite a bit warmer than it appears in the photo.  560 is more "brown" and less grey than it appears.  The same goes for 569--it's more of a dark ash brown than a grey (as it appears in the photo).  The wax, as well, is  quite a bit lighter.  I'm really not sure why my camera doesn't like taking pictures of these!  The texture of them, however, is wonderful and I really like mixing 560 and 569 together to fill in my brows.

The last thing I picked up was another black gel liner (in 77).  My last one dried out and then I accidentally...set it on fire in my microwave...but now I have a new one, hooray!  I am also kicking myself for not picking up some of their "Duraline" when I was there because my teal and green gel liners have *also* dried out and the Duraline can revive them.  Luckily I am heading back down to Seattle in the middle of June so I'll be able to get it then!

Have you ever been to an Inglot store or an Inglot counter?  If so--what was your experience?!!

Edit (2:09PM):

Typing up this blog made me super inspired to play around with some of these colours.  I decided to go "dirty-smoky"!  :)

376 Matte on the lid and lower lash line.  363 Matte in the crease.  318 Matte (white) in the duct and under the brow.  395 Pearl (pearly champagne) under the highest part of the brow.  A bit of 349 Matte in the inner part of the crease.  I put a white eyeliner pencil in the lower waterline and then set it using 390 Matte.

My new Inglot palette!

Ooooh hooray!  I have some new Inglot pretties to share with you all.  :)

I had a friend to go Las Vegas a couple months ago and while she was there I sent her with a list of 10 Inglot shadows to pick up for me--along with a 10 pan square Inglot palette.  My friend was so sweet in getting me the colours I wanted (we had to exchange a few emails because the location didn't have two of my first choice colours) and she was so excited to deliver the package to me.  Funnily enough, once I got the stuff home I realized that she was sent away with a CIRCLE shaped palette and not the square pan palette!  OOPS!  Luckily I have another awesome friend who was recently making an Inglot order and she offered to add the square palette to her order and then shipped it up to me in Canada!  (Aren't I lucky to have such great friends?!!)  My square palette came in the mail yesterday and that meant I could place my 10 new colours into it!  Hip hip, hooray!

Here are the colours I picked out:

And here they are swatched in natural light over MTCoffinz primer:

  • 395 Pearl is a lovely lovely pearlized beige
  • 493 DS is a light purple with glitter (it's hard for me to figure out what colour the glitter is--I feel like I see silver, pink and maybe blue, but I might be making that up!)
  • 345 Matte is a super awesome light teal
  • 372 Matte is a medium toned teal
  • 504 DS is a medium-dark teal with what looks to be silver glitter/sparkle
  • 412 Pearl is a super neato pearly olive
  • 331 Matte is an amazing matte forest green
  • 329 Matte is my attempt to find a dark matte brown that isn't too red toned so that I can use it to fill in my brows!
  • 62 AMC is a low sheen black with pink glitter/sparkle
  • 64 AMC is another low sheen black but with gold glitter/sparkle
These all applied splendidly!  The mattes can apply a bit sheer at first, but building them isn't hard to do (AT ALL) and they do not apply patchily like some other companies' mattes can.  I'm especially a fan of how smooth and easy these "Pearl" colours are to work with!

I knew I had to do a quick eye look with the teals.  Teal has sneakily become one of my favorite colours--not just for makeup stuffs, but just for anything in general!  This is what I came up with:

This look used 345 Matte (on the lid), 372 Matte (in the outer lid/crease), 504 DS (in the outer lid and outer crease) as well as 395 Pearl for a brow highlight.  (I also used 318 Matte from my other Inglot palette in the duct--it's a matte white.)  The liner is another of my new Inglot goodies--it's their gel liner in number 87.  (Depending on your computer monitor the liner might appear more blue than it is in real life--my monitor at home shows it much more blue whereas my monitor at work displayed it much closer to its dark teal colour!)

So there you go!  Do you have any Inglot products?  What are some of your favorite Inglot eye shadow shades or just Inglot products in general???  :)

EOTD: Late Night Company Mash-Up (Madd Style Cosmetics, Sugarpill, Inglot & Naked Cosmetics!)

For some reason I always seem to get inspired to do my makeup when I'm going to be going to bed in about an hour. Tonight was no exception!

I also decided it would be fun to use many different companies together in a single look! It all started out with me wanting to use Inglot's 385 Matte in my crease with a "light colour" on the lid.

This is what I ended up with:

Products used:
  • MTCoffinz "Under the Rainbow" primer
  • NXY Eyeshadow Base in "White"
  • Urban Decay's 24/7 Pencil in "Yeyo" applied to lower lash line and in duct
  • Madd Style Cosmetics "Pisces" applied to first 2/3rds of lid
  • Inglot "385 Matte" applied to outer lid and blended heavily (but applied lightly) into crease
  • Madd Style Cosmetics "Birfday Suit" for brow highlight
  • Sugarpill "Poison Plum" applied to entire lower lash line
  • Sugarpill "Weekender" applied to outer 3/4 of lower lash line
  • Naked Cosmetics "Purple" from the Ivory Stack in the duct
  • Urban Decay's 24/7 Pencil in "Zero" applied to waterline
  • Urban Decay's Ink for Eyes in "Zero" for a "soft" winged liner
  • Milani Power Lash for mascara
And that's all, folks! :)

Inglot EOTD

I jumped on to the Inglot bandwagon a couple of months ago, and boy oh boy--am I ever happy that I did! And I think at this point, I have played with almost ALL of my 10 (wonderful) colours!

Here is a quick shot of the palette (with added numbers--so you can see which colours I got) my wonderful friend, Izzy, brought from the U.S of A. for me!

These shadows are seriously OUT OF THIS WORLD. You won't understand me until you purchase some for yourself. Or, you could search "Inglot" on youtube and find a plethora of makeup "gurus" raving about them too! Then you'll know for sure that I'm not crazy. ;)

The look I put together for this EOTD looked like this:

And closer up on an eye:

Products used:
  • Two Faced Shadow Insurance as a primer
  • NYX Eyeshadow Base in "White" applied all over lid, up to under the brow
  • Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide On Pencil in "Yeyo" to line the lower lash line
  • Inglot 318 Matte applied to inner portion of eye
  • Inglot 66 AMC applied to the rest of lid
  • Inglot 446 Pearl applied to outer most corner of lid and up into crease
  • Inglot 318 Matte applied as a brow highlight
  • Inglot 70 AMC applied to lower lash line
  • Inglot 65 AMC applied to outer most corner of lower lash line and blended up into the 446 Pearl colour
  • Naked Cosmetics "Purple" from the Ivory Stack applied to the duct area
  • Inglot's Gel Liner in 77 applied with an angled liner brush--for liner!
  • Barry M Intense Black 3 in 1 Mascara--applied after curling my lashes with my new magical Urban Decay's "The Revolution" lash curler
The end!
