Tutorial: Sugarpill and Neve Cosmetics

Hi, hello!

What do we have here?  A TUTORIAL?!  Holy smokes.  It's been a LONNNNNG time since I've made one of these!  Forgive me if I am a tad (or a LOT) rusty!

I recently posted this look on a FB makeup group I am part of:

And it was requested that I do a tutorial.  How could I refuse?!!

The look was inspired by my newest Sugarpill colour, the limited edition (and now sold out): Lucid!  I used it with various other Sugarpill colours and used a couple colours from my Neve Cosmetics palettes to soften up the crease.  If you'd like to find out how you can achieve a look like this, then please keep on reading!  :)

Yesterday was Pride in Vancouver. I dressed up my eyes!

The August long weekend in Vancouver always signifies the same thing for me: Pride!  Yesterday was the day of the Parade and general festivities around time.  Fun was had by all!

This year I decided to utilize my Whisper Individual False Eyelashes by none other than Sugarpill Cosmetics.  I thought the result was SO FUN.  I shared this look on the Reddit Page (/r/MakeupAddiction) and received some very positive feeback, which is also neato!

Here is a list of the other products I used:
  • OCC concealer in Y1 and Y2.
  • Inglot 395, 342 and 329 on the eyes.
  • Gabriel Color blush in Apricot.
  • Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer.
  • Barry M Bright Turquoise Lengthening Mascara.
  • OCC Lip Tar in Concubine.
  • The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer.
  • ELF Wet Brow Clear Mascara.
  • Inglot 560 through the brows.

I was so hesitant to take these babies off that I even had a nap in them.  AND went for a run in the evening.  They stayed in place through that all!!  I hope those of you in the Vancouver area are having a lovely weekend and if you participated in any of the Pride activities, I hope you had a damn good time.  :)

EOTD: Sugarpill Purples!

Hi hi hi hi hi!

The other day I was very inspired to play with my purples by Sugarpill.  I really wish they would figure out a way to make Poison Plum vegan again so that when my two run out (yes, I bought a back-up old one that is vegan as it is now not available as vegan and hasn't been since 2012, I believe).  In this look I used Poison Plum in the crease, Hysteric on the lid, and Frostine for a tear duct highlight.

I am not sure what Blogger did as it uploaded my pictures, but it seems to have made the colour of Hysteric (the colour on the lid) more vibrant and contrast-y than it is in real life.

The ever necessary "macro" shot!  This picture shows the colours a bit more true to lift.

This one is also quite true to life (as is the one below).

Products used:
  • Mineral Fusion Eyeshadow Primer
  • NYX Eyeshadow Base in White
  • Inglot Matte 372 in the crease
  • Sugarpill Poision Plum in the deep crease and blended up and out
  • Sugarpill Tako to highlight the browbone
  • Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy applied to lid and Sugarpill Hysteric patted on top
  • Sugarpill Bulletproof to darken the outer lid/outer "v" and applied very closely along the upper lashes
  • Sugarpill Poison Plum applied to lower lash line. Hysteric applied on the lower lash line, but closer to the base of the lashes. A bit of Bulletproof at the outer edge of the lower lash line.
  • Sugarpill Frostine applied to the tear duct area
  • OCC Cosmetic Colour Pencil in Tarred on the waterline and to tightline
  • Gabriel Color Mascara in Black on the lower lashes
  • Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara on the top lashes
What is your favorite Sugarpill purple?  Inquiring minds need to know!!

EOTD: Inglot and Sugarpill

Good evening!

I have been playing with makeup a lot over the past week or so and realized that I should share some love of it here on my blog!  Let the makeup blogging revival begin!!!!!!!! :)

This evening I celebrated the return of Game of Thrones with a friend of mine (I'll be watching it at her house on Monday evenings and I'm super excited for that as she has read the books, so when I get confused I can ask her questions so that I can understand what the heck is going on!  Woo!) and decided to mark the occasion with some colourful liner.  Sugarpill's Royal Sugar really does make an incredible liner when mixed with a mixing medium!

So what'd I use?
  • Mineral Fusion Eye Primer
  • Inglot D.S 501 on the lid
  • A tiny bit of Inglot Pearl 448 at the outer part of the lid
  • Inglot Matte 376 in the crease and blended out with some Matte 390.  376 also applied along the lower lash line
  • Inglot D.S 496 in the tear duct area
  • OCC Cosmetic Colour Pencil in Poolboy to line the lower waterline
  • Sugarpill's Royal Sugar (mixed with Aromaleigh's Indelible Eyeliner Sealant) for winged liner
  • Pure Anada Mascara in Black on the upper and lower lashes
Fun fun fun, n'est-ce pas?  :)

Sugarpill Sunset

One of my newest Sugarpill additions is their loose eyeshadow in Royal Sugar.  It is pretty damn gorgeous and I wanted to try it out with the limited edition Asteria (also by Sugarpill) to get some contrasty goodness happening on my eyelids.  I have to say, the results were pretty fun!

I have also been having a LOT of fun experimenting with my new macro lens for my DSLR.  The pictures it takes are amazing and the depth of field blows my mind EVERY TIME.  Bah!

Here is the look that I came up with:

I can't remember all of the products I used, but I did use a lot of Sugarpill colours.  Tako is in the duct and below the brow, Royal Sugar is along the lower lash line, Buttercupcake is in the crease, Asteria is on the lid, and I snuck in a bit of Asylum (also a new colour added to my collection) on the outer part of the lid and it was also lightly blended up into the crease.

Mmmmmmm Sugarpill!  Have you added any new Sugarpill colours to your collection recently?  Which ones??

EOTD: Sugarpill and Inglot Mash-Up

The weather in Vancouver has become dreary (although I have to say I really enjoy the snow--but the grey garbage water that is left behind after the rain starts...I do not like quite so much!) and I decided to counter-balance that with a look that calls on Spring!  Using a combination of Sugarpill Cosmetics and Inglot, I came up with this look:

Here are the products I used:
  • OCC Creme Colour Concentrate in John Doe
  • Sugarpill Buttercupcake in the inner lid
  • Inglot Pearl 440 in center lid
  • Inglot AMC 66 in outer lid
  • Sugarpill Tako for the brow highlight
  • Sugarpill Lumi in the tear duct
  • Sugarpill Mochi on the bulk of the lower lash line
  • Inglot Pearl 426 on the outer part of the lower lash line
  • Gabriel Black Color Mascara
  • Inglot 87 Gel Liner (also applied on lower waterline)
My Inglot liner has been dried out--but I used the miraculous "Duraline" to wake it up.  It did a super good job!

This was a pretty fun look to do.  Something about yellows always make me want to blow them out right in the inner portion of the eye this way.  Buttercupcake was the perfect suspect for such a job!

I hope you're all ready for the holiday season (since it is pretty much upon us!) and thanks for stopping by to take a look at my creation.  :)

EOTD: Sugarpill Drama

Tonight I had this vision of Sugarpill's Poison Plum, Velocity and Goldilux in a look.  Then I had to make it happen!

And then everything was right with the world.  :)

What visions of looks have you had in your head lately??

Sugarpill Extravaganza!

Hello!

Today I pulled out my Sugarpill Cosmetics colours and decided to feature one of my newer colours that I haven't played around with too too much yet: Decora!  Wow is it even gorgeous.  The greenish glitter in it made me want to pair it with Lumi and then I wanted to use Poison Plum too...so I just went with my instincts!  Here is what I came up with:

Products used:
  • Random Eyeshadow Primer
  • Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Creme Colour Concentrate in John Doe
  • Inglot 390 Matte in the crease
  • Sugarpill's Poison Plum in the crease
  • Sugarpill's Decora on the lid
  • Sugarpill's Lumi in the duct
  • Sugarpill's Velocity in the deep crease/lower lash line
  • A bit of Sugarpill's Afterparty on the inner portion of the lower lash line
  • Sugarpill's Tako for a brow highlight
  • Sugarpill's Bulletproof for liner
  • A bit of Zuzu Luxe Liquid Liner along the lash line
  • Zuzu Luxe Leaf Eyeliner on the lower waterline
  • Gabriel Color Mascara in Black on the lower lashes
  • Tarte's Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara on the top lashes
What are some of your favorite Sugarpill colours??  I'm very excited because I have the newest three pressed vegan shadows (from the Cold Chemistry collection) coming to me after their Black Friday sale!  Weeeeeeee!  :)

Thanks for stopping by!

EOTD: Sugarpill Brights

You know how sometimes an idea will pop into your head and then you can't rest until that idea becomes reality?  Today I had visions of Sugarpill's Buttercupcake intermingling with Acidberry and I knew I had to make it a real thing!

Here is the result:

I used quite a lot of my pressed Sugarpill colours to achieve this look and I was quite pleased with how it came out!

Products used:

  • The All Natural Face Magic Eyeshadow Primer
  • NYX Eyeshadow Base in "White"
  • Sugarpill's Buttercupcake in the inner crease and blended up into the base of my eyebrow
  • Sugarpill's Acidberry in the outer crease and blended in toward the Buttercupcake
  • Sugarpill's Mochi on the inner half of the lid
  • Sugarpill's Velocity in the second half of the lid (leaving some room at the very outer edge of the lid)
  • Sugarpill's Poison Plum in the outer most part of the lid and the outer most part of the lower lash line (where I layered it on top of Velocity)
  • A bit of Sugarpill's Afterparty to blend the Poison Plum into the Acidberry
  • Sugarpill's Tako under the brow
  • Sugarpill's Lumi in the duct
  • A bit more Mochi and Velocity on the lower lash line
  • Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in "Zero" to line the upper and lower waterline
  • Inglot's Gel Liner in "77" for the upper liner
  • A tiny bit of Sugarpill's Bulletproof to smooth out the upper liner
  • Ardell #120 lashes
  • Gabriel Color Mascara in "Black"
Ooooh yes!

What is *your* favorite pressed Sugarpill shadow?  I really can't decide!  I love them all and I can hardly wait for Sugarpill to release their new pressed shadows in the summer.  I'm hoping most of them are vegan!!

Thanks, as always, for stopping by.  :)

EOTD: Multi-Company Mash-Up (Sugarpill and Madd Style Cosmetics)

Helloooooo!

Tonight I had the idea to combine Sugarpill's Acidberry & Velocity with a darker blue by Madd Style Cosmetics on the lid.  I wasn't sure if I was going to go for a more blackened lid look, but I do like how it all turned out in the end!  Mixing bright creases with a smokier lid sure is a fun time, I think!  What do you think?

Products used:

  • The All Natural Face Magic Eyeshadow Primer
  • NYX Eyeshadow Base in "White" applied all over the lid and blended up into the crease/below the brow bone
  • The All Natural Face Black "Eyeshadow Primer" (I use this as a base, not a primer.  It creases A LOT if you try to use it as a primer) applied over the mobile part of the lid
  • Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in "Yeyo" to line the lower lash line and tear duct area
  • Sugarpill's Acidberry applied to the crease
  • Sugarpill's Velocity applied to the deeper part of the crease and layered/blended into Acidberry
  • Madd Style Cosmetics's Psychic Paper applied under the brow and blended down into Acidberry
  • Madd Style Cosmetics's Cheat Code applied to the lid and blended up into Velocity
  • Sugarpill's Acidberry and Velocity applied to the lower lash line
  • Madd Style Cosmetics's Dreamer's Dream Potion applied to the tear duct
  • Korres Eyeliner Pencil to line the lower waterline
  • Sugarpill's Tako to set the white pencil on the waterline
  • A bit of Urban Decay's 24/7 pencil in "Zero" to tightline the upper lashes/line the upper waterline
  • Sugarpill's Bulletproof applied dry as a smoky liner on the upper lash line
  • Gabriel Color Mascara in "Black" applied to the upper and lower lashes
Yep yep!!  What colours did *you* wear on your eyes today?  :)

EOTD: Multi-Company Mash-Up (Sugarpill and Madd Style Cosmetics)

A while ago I picked up the new Madd Style Cosmetics "Gloomcookie"--a neato purple taupe colour that has a strong green duochrome.  I just knew that it was going to play nicely with Sugarpill's "Poison Plum" (thankfully I have not one but TWO pans of this colour when it was still vegan!) and so I had to try it out!  I also added some blue, Sugarpill's "Afterparty", to the look for a little somethin' unexpected.  This is the look that resulted:

 Oooooh, fun!! Right?!!

Products used:
  • Pure Fusion Eyeshadow Primer (I have reasons to suspect that I was erroneously told that this is a vegan product.  I cannot say for sure at this point, but I don't recommend it to any vegans just because of the suspicions that I have!)
  • NYX Eyeshadow Base in "White"
  • Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in "Yeyo" to line the lower lash line and lower waterline
  • Sugarpill's Poison Plum applied to the crease and along the outer portion of the lower lash line
  • Sugarpill's Bulletproof applied to the outer crease/outer "V"
  • Madd Style Cosmetics Gloomcookie applied to the entire lid area
  • Madd Style Cosmetics Psychic Paper to blend out Poison Plum and added under the brow for a highlight
  • Sugarpill's Afterparty applied to the middle of the lower lash line
  • Madd Style Cosmetics "Luck Potion" applied to the duct and to set the white pencil on the waterline
  • Inglot's Gel Liner in "77"
  • Gabriel Color Mascara (lower lashes) and Milani Power Lash (upper lashes)
What colours did *you* use on your eyes today??

Thanks, as always, for dropping by to take a look!  :)

EOTD: Rainbow Multi-Company Mash-Up! (Madd Style Cosmetics, Sugarpill and Naked Cosmetics)

Hi All!

Last night I had some inspiration to pull out my Naked Cosmetics colours and I decided to combine them in a look with Madd Style Cosmetics and Sugarpill!  I only had "plans" for the gold to orange to pink on the upper lid (I hadn't used my Harvest Moon stack by Naked Cosmetics yet AND I hadn't had a chance to play with my newest loose Sugarpill colour, Decora, yet!  So this look was going to accomplish a lot!).  The lower lid turned out kind of rainbow-y and I really like the results!

Products used:

  • The All Natural Face Magic Eyeshadow Primer
  • NYX Eyeshadow Base in "White"
  • Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in "Yeyo" to line the duct and lower lash line
  • Madd Style Cosmetics "Enchanted" applied to first 1/3rd of lid
  • Naked Cosmetics "Harvest Moon 02" (a super cool orange with a pink duochrome) applied to the center of the lid
  • Sugarpill "Decora" on the outer 1/3rd of the lid
  • Madd Style Cosmetics "Psychic Paper" to blend out the lid and to highlight under the brow
  • Madd Style Cosmetics "Heart of Gold Potion" in the tear duct
  • Naked Cosmetics "Harvest Moon 04" applied to the center of the lower lash line
  • Sugarpill "Starling" applied to the outer 1/3rd of the lower lash line
  • Sugarpill "Poison Plum" applied at the outer outer most part of the lower lash line and blended up into the outer upper lid (into the Decora)
  • Inglot's Gel Liner in "77" for the winged liner and to line the upper waterline
  • Korres pencil in "White" to line the lower waterline
  • Madd Style Cosmetics "Not About the Money" to set the white pencil on the waterline
  • Gabriel Color Mascara in "Black" on the upper and lower lashes
The end!

What are some of your favorite companies to put together in a look?  I think Madd Style Cosmetics, Sugarpill and Naked Cosmetics all played rather nicely with each other here, don't you??  :)

EOTD: Sugarpill + Madd Style Cosmetics Mash-up!

Hi All!

Sometimes you just want to do a bright and funky lid with a dark and smoky lower lash line...right?  I know that I sure felt this was the perfect way to cap off a pretty long and exhausting week!  :)

I put together this look using several Sugarpill Cosmetics colours as well as a couple colours from Madd Style Cosmetics.

Here's what resulted:

Products used:

  • The All Natural Face "Magic" Eyeshadow Primer
  • NYX Eyeshadow Base in White
  • Sugarpill's Tako applied under the brow and blended down into the crease
  • Sugarpill's Poison Plum applied to the crease and blended up into Tako
  • Sugarpill's After Party applied to the deeper crease
  • Sugarpill's Velocity used to blend After Party into Poison Plum in the crease
  • Madd Style Cosmetics's Afternoon Delight applied to the inner half of the lid
  • Sugarpill's Acid Berry applied to the second half of the lid
  • Sugarpill's Midori applied between Acid Berry and After Party
  • Sugarpill's Lumi applied to the duct (using the same brush that I applied the greens with and thus Lumi took on a much more "green" look than usual--which I thought was kinda neat!)
  • Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in "Yeyo" to line the lower lash line
  • Madd Style Cosmetics's Zazz on the lower lash line
  • Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in "Zero" to line the upper and lower waterlines
  • Lush's "Independent" liner applied with an Inglot slanted liner brush
  • Milani's Power Lash in Black for mascara
The End!

Thank you as always for dropping by.  I hope you enjoyed this little mash-up and I hope you're all having a fantastic weekend!

EOTD: Company Mash-up! Sugarpill, Fyrinnae and Naked Cosmetics

 Hi All!

It's been an awfully long time (or at least I feel like it has??) since I've posted an EOTD!  My lovely friend Brandy used some Fyrinnae shadows today and it inspired to me to use one of my newer Fyrinnae shadows for the first time: Mephisto!  I knew that I wanted to pair it with Sugarpill's Velocity and then when the eye was coming together it turned out I used a few more Sugarpill shadows (and a Naked Cosmetics shadow) to finish off the look!

Here's what I came up with!

Ultra close-up to show the glory of Poison Plum, Velocity and Mephisto!

Products used:
  • The All Natural Face "Magic" Eyeshadow Primer
  • NYX Eyeshadow Base in "White"
  • Urban Decay 24/7 Pencil in "Zero" (applied as a black base to the lid, lower lash line, and the upper & lower waterlines)
  • Sugarpill's Velocity applied to the outer 2/3rds of the crease
  • Sugarpill's Poison Plum applied to the inner 1/3rd of the crease
  • Fyrinnae's Mephisto applied to the lid
  • Sugarpill's Stella applied to the outer 1/3rd of the lid and blended up into Velocity a bit
  • Sugarpills's Stella applied to the outer 2/3rds of the lower lash line
  • Fyrinnae's Mephisto applied to the inner 1/2 of the lower lash line
  • Sugarpill's Tako applied as a brow highlight and to highlight the tear duct
  • Naked Cosmetics "Ivory" collection (the red interference one!) applied over Tako in the duct
  • Sugarpill's Bulletproof applied as a liner to the upper lash line
  • Milani Power Lash in "Black" for mascara on the upper and lower lashes
  • Ardell lashes in #109
And that completes the look!

Which companies do *you* like to mash-up together?  :)

Thanks as always for dropping by!!

Edit: Jan 22 @ 6:34pm.  I am *so* sad right now because some of you are leaving such lovely comments and compliments to this entry but for some reason they're going straight to my email and aren't visible on the blog entry itself.  I'd love to be able to reply to them to tell you all "thank you"...but I have a feeling I have something weird happening with either Disqus or Blogger.  -sigh-  I really liked the Disqus platform because it allows me to reply directly to comments...but I'm thinking if it's going to cause me problems like this that I'll disable it and just go back to old fashioned Blogger commenting?

EOTD: Sugarpill Fun

Hi All!

This afternoon I decided I needed to play with my lovely pressed Sugarpill shadows.  I had it in mind to do something with Midori as the feature colour, but I ended up with something a little different than I had intended.  I still quite like the result though!

Products used:

  • MTCoffinz "Under the Rainbow" Eye Primer applied all over the lid and blended up to under the brow.
  • NYX Eyeshadow Base in "White" applied over the primer.
  • Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in "Zero" to thickly line the upper lash line before any colour is applied to the lid.
  • Sugarpill "Afterparty" applied to the center of the lid and blended up into the crease.
  • Sugarpill "Velocity" applied to the outer 1/3rd of the lid and blended up into the crease.
  • Sugarpill "Mochi" to blend out Afterparty and Velocity.
  • Sugarpill "Midori" applied lightly on the inner portion of the upper lid
  • Sugarpill "Lumi" applied to the center of the lid (over Afterparty) and in the tear-duct area.
  • Sugarpill "Poison Plum" applied to the lower portion of the outer 1/3rd of the lid and in the "wing" at the outer part of the eye.
  • Korres "White" eye pencil applied as a base in the outer "wing".  Lumi is patted over top of that!
  • The lower lash line goes from inner to outer: Lumi, Acidberry, Midori, Afterparty, Velocity and Poison Plum.
  • Sugarpill "Tako" for a brow highlight.
  • Sugarpill "Bulletproof" to darken up the outer portion of the upper lid.
  • Urban Decay pencil in "Zero" to tightline and to line the lower waterline.
  • Urban Decay Lush Lash Masara applied to top and bottom lashes.

I hope you all like this look.  What's the last Sugarpill colour *you* played with??

:)
