Madd Style Cosmetics Turns 2!

Hi All!

To celebrate Madd Style Cosmetics's second birthday, Mo has made not one but TWO Alice in Wonderland themed collections!  Just now she has released sneak peek pics of the two collections: Twisted Wonderland and Psychedelic Wonderland.  She's hosting a giveaway on her blog for each collection and all you gotta do is "comment" on the blogs to enter.  :)

The colour I'm most excited for so far from Twisted Wonderland: Pool of Tears.

How amazing is that???

Psychedelic Wonderland is pretty freakin' wonderful.  Do I even know which colour I am drooling over most??    Yeah, okay, it's probably Mushroom Jazz:

I am so darn excited to see that bright kelly green though--MSC has totally needed one of those in their collection for a LONG TIME.  (Plus, it helps that I'm wearing a bright kelly green tank top as I type this!!)

Both collections go "live" tomorrow and I'm *sure* you aren't going to want to miss out on the party!

Happy Birthday, MSC!

Oh!  And if you want to enter the giveaway(s), be speedy about it!  Both are only running for this evening/early morning so you gotta hop like the white rabbit and get on it!

11 Questions Tag!

Hi Everyone!  I've been tagged by the ever lovely Phlox and Azure of EyeGraffiti to answer 11 fun questions!

The rules of the tag as as follows:

1. Each tagged person must answer the 11 questions given to them by their "tagger" and post it on their blog
2. Then, choose 11 new people to tag and link them in your post.
3. Create 11 new questions for the people you tag to answer
4. Go to their page and tell them they've been tagged!
5. Do not tag back the person who has already tagged you.

I am totally going to come up with 11 people to tag, too!  (Especially cause I hardly get to play games like this!!)

Here are the questions that were asked of me:

1. If you could be a mutant, what mutant power would you have?

This is a pretty easy one for me, because I've always always always loved X-Men's Rogue and I've *always* wished that I could fly, just like her!!!  I would also really dig having some kind of power that would allow me to transport myself anywhere in a split second.  That would be pretty amazing!  :)

2. Lipstick on the eyes, or eyeshadow on the lips?

Oh gosh!  DEFINITELY eyeshadow on the lips!  Lipstick on the eyes would get soooooo creasy soooooo fast!

3. Which song is the ultimate best song with lyrics, music and artist included?

That is a tough one.  I've been listening to a LOT of music lately that would be categorized as "ambient" and it doesn't actually have lyrics.  With that said, Max Ritcher's "On the Nature of Daylight" is one of the most beautiful songs in the whole entire world.  It has been popping up lately in some soundtracks (it was featured in Shutter Island, for example).  Here it is, in case you want to take a listen (which you should, you won't regret it!):

4. Do you feel uncomfortable having someone else doing your make up?

I can't actually remember the last time someone did my makeup!  NO, wait!  That's a lie!  I do remember and it was my friend Michelle and she did some Dita Von Teese inspired look for a Halloween costume that I wore a number of years ago.  I was quite comfortable to have Michelle do it, because I trust her--but I would imagine that I'd be pretty uncomfortable having someone I don't know doing my makeup.

5. Which celebrity would you like to do a total make over on, and why?

Instead of me making over them, could *they* make over *me*???  I would pick Anne Hathaway to make me over.  Yes, indeed!  Or Scarlett Johansson.  My own fashion sense is terrible, but those two ladies always look so smokin' hott!  So probably what I actually want is for their stylists to make me over!  Ha ha.

6. Which make up trend is getting no where near your face?

The spider lashes!  Ewwwwww!  No thank you!

7. What's your magic trick to get the perfect looking complexion?

What works for me is only washing my face every other day.  If I wash it (with soap) every day it tends to get too dried out so I only wash it every other day and that seems to work for me.

8. Colour your hair like the rainbow or shave it all off?

RAINBOW!  I would love to have rainbow coloured hair!!  The idea of having NO hair terrifies me!

9. Best liquid or gel eyeliner you've ever laid your hands on?

So far Inglot's AMC Gel Liner takes the cake.  That stuff doesn't budge once you've applied it.  I love it a lot and I want to have more than just the black one.  In fact, I'll be ordering more soon!

10. What brand do you own most of your make up from and why?

Easy peasy!  Madd Style Cosmetics!  It's awesomely pigmented, vegan-friendly, and made  by a wonderfully awesome girl.  Plus, I represent them as one of their models and I wouldn't do that if I didn't have 100% faith in the products!  (They make some of the bestest vegan lip balms in the WORLD!)

11. If you could change one thing in your life, what would it be?

I would like to manipulate things in such a way that I could keep my current full-time job but also work towards applying for (and completing) my PhD without losing my mind.  At the moment I view doing my PhD as an impossibility, and I wish that wasn't the case.

YAY!  That was fun!  Thanks to Phlox and Azure for tagging me!!

Now--here are the questions I want to have answered:
1.  If you could hang out with one fictional character for a day, who would it be and why?
2.  You win an $1000 shopping spree for any makeup brand in the world.  Which company would you splurge on and what are the first three products you would buy?
3.  If a movie was being made of your life, who would play you?
4.  What is your favorite book of ALL TIME?  (And if that's too hard, you can pick two or three!  :))
5.  Where do you receive your inspiration?  (For your art, whether it be on your face or otherwise!)
6.  What brand of makeup brushes is your favorite?  Of that brand, which TWO brushes do you use the very most??
7.  What is your favorite time of year and why?
8.  You have 5 minutes to do your makeup for the day.  What do you put on?
9.  If you could visit one city in the world (that you haven't already visited before), which one would you choose?  What would you do there?
10.  If you *had* to choose one kind of makeup to have permanently tattooed to your face, what it would you choose?  (Ie: Eyeliner, Lipstick, Eyebrows, and the like!)
11.  What is your proudest moment?

And now for the people I am tagging!

Jalackie over at Accidentally Mommy!
Emily at Makeup Fancy!
Krissi at Krissi's Art Studio!
Courtney at All Things Glam!
Channy at Mad About Beauty!
Mo at Madd Style!

Okay, that's only 9 people...but if you're reading this and you want to answer my questions, totally do that and comment on this blog with a link to your responses!  I'd love to see what anyone would say!!  :)

EOTD: Madd Style Cosmetics gradient + Sugarpill Lashes

Good Evening, Readers!

This evening I felt like playing with another of my new pairs of Sugarpill lashes!  Today's pick was the lovely "Spark" lashes and boy am I ever glad that I picked them to play with!  They were so easy to put on--the lash band is quite thin and the lashes themselves are nice and bendable, even with those rhinestones!  I did cut off a bit of the length as Sugarpill lashes are *quite* long, but cutting them definitely helped me to put them on properly!  :)

Here is the look that I came up with:

(Even though (as you can see) the lashes are quite dramatic, they're really really light and I could see myself wearing them all day and forgetting they were even there!)

And here it is without the lashes, just in case you'd like it more without the awesome lashes (is that even possible??? :))

Product used:

  • MTCoffinz "Under the Rainbow" eyeshadow primer
  • NYX Eyeshadow Base in "White"
  • Madd Style Cosmetics "Snot Face" applied to inner 1/3rd of the lid
  • Madd Style Cosmetics "Zombie Crush" applied to the middle of the lid
  • Madd Style Cosmetics "Yukon Cornelius" applied the outer 1/3rd of the lid
  • Madd Style Cosmetics "Jive Talk" applied the outer corner of the lid and into the outer crease
  • Madd Style Cosmetics "Ice Cream Daydream" applied to the rest of the crease (to blend out the lid colours)
  • Madd Style Cosmetics "Birfday Suit" applied directly under the brow to lessen the shimmer factor of the Ice Cream Daydream
  • Madd Style Cosmetics "Thunder Snow" in the duct
  • Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in Yeyo to line the lower lash line
  • Madd Style Cosmetics "Illuminati" applied to the bulk of the lower lash line (a bit of Jive Talk applied the outer 2/3rds of the lower lash line)
  • Inglot Gel Liner in 77 for the winged liner
  • Korres pencil in "White" to line the lower waterline
  • Urban Decay pencil in "Zero" to line the upper waterline
  • Barry M 3 in 1 Mascara for mascara!
  • Sugarpill Lashes in "Spark" as the awesome finishing touch
I wish every paid of false lashes I had were as easy to apply as these ones from Sugarpill!  (It also might have helped that I used less glue than usual--I have to remember that less is more, sometimes, when it comes to glue!!).  Also--yellow/green to blue to purple gradients are probably my favorite ever!  :)

I hope you enjoyed the look!

EOTD: Sugarpill Green and Purples!

Good day, readers!  :)

Today I decided to play with some Sugarpill and I had a lot of fun!  The chromalust (loose) eyeshadows are such a dream to work with.  Here is the look I came up with:

I used the following products:
  • MTCoffinz "Under the Rainbow" eyeshadow primer
  • NYX Eyeshadow Base in "White"
  • Sugarpill "Absinthe" applied the first 2/3rds of the lid
  • Sugarpill "Tipsy" applied to the outer 1/3rd of the lid
  • Sugarpill "Magpie" to cut the crease
  • Sugarpill "Hysteric" to blend out "Magpie"
  • Sugarpill "Bulletproof" to define the crease a bit more after the blending
  • Sugarpill "Lumi" applied to the duct as well as for a brow highlight
  • Sugarpill "Tako" applied over the "Lumi" (under the brow) to "tone" that down a bit!
  • Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in "Yeyo" to line the lower lash line
  • Sugarpill "Paperdoll" applied to the inner 2/3rds of the lower lash line
  • Sugarpill "Hysteric" and "Magpie" applied to the outer 1/3rd of the lower lash line
  • Inglot Eyeliner Gel in 77 for the winged liner
  • Korres Eye Pencil in "White" applied to the waterline
  • Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in "Perversion" applied to the upper waterline
  • Barry M 3 in 1 mascara f or the upper lashes
And that's it!  Greens and purples go together so nicely, I think!  What are some of the more "unusual" combos that you like to do??  :)

EOTD: Fiery!

The other day, the lovely Phlox (of EyeGraffiti) requested that I do a "fiery" look!  She, herself, did a lovely fiery look the day after!  This evening I finally had time to do the idea that I have had in my head since she requested a fire-look out of me  :)

Here is what I came up with!

And that's about that!  I used a heck of a lot of products in this...let's see...
  • MTCoffinz "Under the Rainbow" eyeshadow primer
  • NYX Eyeshadow Base in "White"
  • Sugarpill's "Buttercupcake" layered with some MTCoffinz "Zoom Boom Pow" for the yellow
  • Madd Style Cosmetics "Boognish" layered with some MTCoffinz "Calamity" for the orange
  • Madd Style Cosmetics "Queen of Hearts" for the red
  • Madd Style Cosmetics "Fire & Ice" in the duct, blended up into the inner eye and under the first 2/3rds of the brow
  • Madd Style Cosmetics "Poison Berry" layered on top of Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in "Zero" for the liner
  • Urban Decay pencil in "Zero" to line the upper waterline and to tightline
  • Korres Soft Eyeliner Pencil in "white" on lower waterline
  • Barry M Intense Black 3 in 1 Mascara applied to upper and lower lashes
I think that's it!  T'was fun to put together!  :)

I hope you like it, Phlox!  (You too, Azure!)  And everyone else, too!!

EOTD: Sugarpill Purples and Blue

Hi Readers!

I just noticed that I'm getting close to 200 followers!  YAY!  :)  Thanks to everyone who so far as been following and commenting on my ramblings and makeup photos!

The other day I was playing around with my Sugarpill colours and I came up with this fun look:

Products used:
  • MTCoffinz "Under the Rainbow" eyeshadow primer
  • NYX Eyeshadow Base in "White"
  • Sugarpill "Poison Plum" applied to the inner and outer lid and blended out into the crease.  Also applied along the outer half of the lower lash line.
  • Sugarpill "Afterparty" applied to the center of the lid and blended in with "Poison Plum"
  • Sugarpill "Lumi" applied over to top of "Afterparty" (concentrated right in the middle of the lid)
  • Sugarpill "Magpie" applied to the outer-most part of the lid/crease and blended lightly into the crease. Also applied along the outer-most part of the lower lash line.
  • Sugarpill "Tako" to highlight under the brow and the duct
  • Sugarpill "Paperdoll" applied to the inner half of the lower lash line
  • Sugarpill "Tiara" applied right in the very tip of the duct
  • Sugarpill "Bulletproof" applied dry and really closely to the upper lash line (for definition)
  • Urban Decay's 24/7 pencil in "Perversion" to line the waterlines
  • Gabriel Color mascara in "Black" for the lower lashes
  • Milani Power Lash mascara applied to upper lashes
I'm *pretty* sure that that's all I used!!

Poison Plum sure is a pretty purple, I have to say!  And applying Lumi over Afterparty gave a really great effect!
