March Happiness Project: Day 5

It's a new day, it's a new day!

You know what that means!  A new topic!

A song that makes me smile?!  Gosh.  Several of my friends who are doing this challenge have had a hard time picking out their answer to this, and I am no different.  I have so many different songs that make me smile for different reasons.  For example: U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" makes me smile because it's likely the music that got me "into music" when I was like 6 years old and my Uncle (who was around 21 at the time) would play it on the guitar and I would sing along.  We have home videos of me doing this--otherwise I'm sure I wouldn't really remember it.  Sunny Day Real Estate's "Guitar and Video Games" is a song that definitely makes me smile when I think back on it because I'm convinced that it (along with the music that I started listening to at the same time--namely Jimmy Eat World's album "Clarity") saved me from a very very dark period in my life.  It also consequently was the gateway into me meeting some of the most important people in my life, my husband included.  Not only that, but I was lucky enough to see SDRE on their most recent reunion tour (my first time seeing them live--and I never thought I would get that chance since they broke up before I ever started listening to them) and I'm positive that my life before seeing Jeremy Enigk sing is different than my life afterward.

Music is the best stuff ever.
